Don joined the Prototype Challenge ranks at COTA on Sept 18, 2015. Yount extended his exploritory mission participating at Petit Le Mans. With a podium finish at Petit, and a partial season points ranking of 20th among 41 drivers.
Running selected WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Prototype Challenge races in 2016, Yount turned 1600 laps finishing 12th in the driver standings.
Don now turns his focus toward the 2017 season and the historic Rolex 24 at Daytona. As he prepares for the North American Endurance Championship and additional WeatherTech sprint races, Yount is anticipating a busy and transitional racing season.

Don Yount began his racing career with Radical sports cars. Shortly after he moved to the DP02 he races in the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites today. After a short and successful SCCA career Don earned a regional championship and several track records.
Don moved to his first full season in 2014 running IMSA Prototype Lites. He finished 6th overall and 2nd in Masters. The top 5 was filled with quality drivers and some of the best talent in North America. 2015 brought similar results with Don sitting 7th in points and 2nd in Masters.
In 2016, Don ran the Watkins Glen Lites event... the site of three of his previous podium finishes.
